A coding agent wherever you write code. On your rules.
Tempr's agent runs in Visual Studio, VS Code and JetBrains IDEs, in the terminal and in CI, and soon in its own desktop app. It works on your own provider keys, follows the rules and skills your organization publishes, and stays inside the same budgets and guardrails as every other tool on Tempr.
Every paid Chat plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and the CLI comes with it.

Pick where it runs. It's the same agent everywhere.
Tempr Chat
The agent inside Visual Studio 2022 and 2026, VS Code (and editors that install from Open VSX), and IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, Rider and the other JetBrains IDEs.
- Agent mode that reads, searches and edits your code and runs allowed commands, with Interactive, Bypass or Autopilot approval
- Specialist personas: @debugger, @test, @security, @review, @plan and more, plus your own on Pro
- Inline completion, MCP tools, and chat history that follows you between machines

Tempr CLI
The same agent on the command line: interactive, one-shot, piped into scripts, and running in CI. It comes with every Chat plan.
- Pipe anything in:
git diff | tempr "Review this change" - JSON output, a cost cap per run, and a Linux sandbox for unattended runs
- Inside Zed, JetBrains AI Assistant, Neovim and Emacs through the Agent Client Protocol

Tempr Code
A desktop app built around the agent, with the workflow Claude Code users know and any model you choose. It signs in with the same Tempr account, and it's in development.
- Several chats at once, each on its own copy of your repository
- Plan mode, rewind to any message, and a diff you review hunk by hunk before you commit, push or open a PR
- Any model on your keys, or a local one through Ollama, LM Studio or any OpenAI-compatible server
- Picks up your Claude Code commands, agents, skills, hooks, plugins and .mcp.json

Your organization sets the rules once. Every agent follows them.
Your rules and skills, in every agent.
Publish your organization's rules and skills once in the Portal. Every Tempr agent your members run follows them, in the IDEs, the CLI and Tempr Code, before the workspace's own instructions.
- Required or recommended rules, in the order you set
- Skills uploaded once and available to everyone
- Shared personas and slash commands
It asks before it changes anything.
In Interactive mode the agent shows each edit as a diff and waits for your OK. Commands on the allow list run; anything else asks first, and a run with no one to ask refuses it.
- Interactive, Bypass or Autopilot, per chat
- Command allow lists for your workspace
- Undo a whole turn's changes
Every run traced. No run past its cap.
Each run is traced call by call in the Portal, with what every model call cost. Your organization can set the most one run may cost, and a run stops before the model call that would go over.
- Per-run cost limit for every member
- This month's most expensive runs, for owners and admins
- The same guardrails on members' own turns as on API traffic
One plan covers the IDE and the terminal.
Bring your own provider keys; the plan pays for the agent, not the tokens.

Which IDEs does Tempr Chat support?
Visual Studio 2022 and 2026, VS Code and editors that install from Open VSX, and the JetBrains IDEs built on the IntelliJ Platform: IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, Rider and the rest.
Do I need my own API key?
Yes. Tempr's agents run on your own provider keys, from any of 34 providers, OpenAI, Anthropic and Google among them, so you pay the provider directly and choose any model you're entitled to.
Is the CLI a separate purchase?
No. The CLI comes with every Chat plan, and with the Chat and CLI seats included in Gateway Pro and Scale.
When can I get Tempr Code?
It's in development and not priced yet. It will sign in with the same Tempr account and follow the same rules and budgets.
